Support for Parent Carers
Are you a parent carer, providing care to your child who needs additional support?
Here at the Carers Together partnership, we can provide a support conversation to discuss your needs. We can offer information, advice, and guidance.
We can signpost and refer you to other support services, such as Forward carers, if you wish to obtain a Carers ID card, or the Wiltshire Parent Carer Council, should you wish to access their services, or apply for the shorts breaks scheme for your child.
If your child is under 18 we have developed a ‘parent carer needs assessment’ which is a conversation to establish your caring needs. We can discuss a parent carer transition assessment if your child is 16+, and they are moving into adulthood.
We can discuss support for any young carers or young adult carers you may have in your family.
We can carry out Carers Assessments if your child is over 18, and we can establish whether you meet the eligibility criteria for a funded service.
From September 2024 we will also be running peer support groups and virtual evening groups. Details can be found on the ‘Whats on’ page.
